IMR 4198 produces 2975 FPS with 275 grain Parker Extreme in a 30" barrel. Muzzle energy is 5400 foot pounds. 100 yard energy is 4000+ foot pounds. These muzzleloaders will shoot less than 1 minute of angle to 600 yards

After much testing of powder & bullets we have determined that Federal match 215 magnum primers, IMR 4198 powder & the Parker Bullets are the best combination for accuracy, hunting & velocity.

Longest Groundhog kill to date with this rifle is 580 yards.

78 grains of 4198 with the Parker 275 Extreme gave a velocity of 2975 FPS with exceptional accuracy in the Krieger 30" barrel.

 Richard to date has shot 31 Groundhogs from 168 yards to 580  yards with this rifle using a laser range finder and click chart. With a  200 yard zero the rifle shoots about 1 3/4" high at 100 yards. Point blank range for Deer is out to 290 yards.

Richard will be shooting his muzzleloader on Groundhogs for the remainder of this summer. All kills are being filmed and will be on our 2008 Death in the green Grass ll hog hunting video available in October, 2008
